Ai Weiwei "So Sorry"
Ai Weiwei is one of China's most controversial contemporary artists and critics. He has been active as an artist since the 1980s, when contemporary Chinese art was still in its infancy, leading Chinese art and art criticism and working around the world. At the same time, he is also active in social movements. His wife is the artist Lu Qing.
He has participated in international exhibitions such as Documenta 12 (2007), the 11th Venice Architecture Biennale (2008), and the 8th Liverpool Biennial (2008), as well as group exhibitions introducing contemporary Chinese art in various countries, such as "Mahjong: Contemporary Chinese Art from the Sigg Collection" (touring Berlin, 2006). He is also known for his involvement in the Beijing Olympic main stadium "Bird's Nest," designed by Herzog & de Meuron in 2008.
This book documents his solo exhibition at the Haus der Kunst in Munich.
